The Roman Catholic Diocese of Grand Island (LatinDioecesis Insulae Grandis) is aRoman Catholic diocese in Grand Island, Nebraska. It is a suffragan see to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Omaha. The current bishop of the diocese is Bishop William Dendinger. The cathedral parish is the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

History

On March 8, 1912 Saint Pius X established the Diocese of Kearney from territory taken from the Diocese of Omaha. The diocese enlarged with more territory from Omaha on May 13, 1916. It was renamed when the see city was transferred to Grand Island on April 11, 1917
